Job Summary:

As a Civil Engineer working for an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) company, you will be an integral part of the project team responsible for the successful execution of various civil engineering projects. Your role will involve overseeing the design, planning, and construction phases of projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring that projects are delivered within budget, on time, and in compliance with engineering standards and safety regulations. You will play a key role in managing project resources, coordinating with stakeholders, and providing technical expertise to achieve project objectives

 

Job Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning and Design:

  •  a. Collaborate with clients and project stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives.
  •  b. Prepare engineering designs, drawings, and specifications for civil engineering projects.
  • c. Conduct feasibility studies and assess project viability.
  • d. Procurement and Materials Management:
  • e. Work with procurement teams to source materials and equipment required for the project.
  • f. Evaluate and select suppliers and subcontractors for construction activities.

2. Construction Oversight:

  • a. Supervise and manage construction activities to ensure adherence to engineering plans and quality standards.
  • b. Review and approve method statements, work procedures, and construction schedules.

3. Project Cost Management:

  • a. Assist in preparing project budgets and cost estimates.
  • b. Monitor project costs and expenditures to ensure cost control and costeffectiveness.
  • c. Quality Control and Assurance:
  • d. Implement quality control measures to verify compliance with engineering standards and specifications.
  • e. Conduct regular inspections and tests to ensure construction quality.

4. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:

  •  a. Promote and enforce a strong safety culture on construction sites.
  •  b. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • c. Project Documentation and Reporting:
  • d. Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including progress reports and records of site activities.
  • e. Prepare regular project status updates and reports for project management and clients.

5. Project Coordination and Communication:

  • a. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including architects, project managers, and subcontractors.
  • b. Provide technical support and resolve engineering-related issues.
  • c. Change Management and Problem-Solving:
  • d. Manage changes to project scope, ensuring that changes are properly documented and approved.
  • e. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that may arise during the construction process.

 

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.

• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is preferred.

• Proven experience as a Civil Engineer in the EPC or construction industry.

• Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, codes, and practices.

• Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and other engineering software tools.

• Excellent project management and organizational skills.

• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with project teams and stakeholders.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

• Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and deadlines.
