District Manager

You will be responsible for all store operations within their specific district and driving results in the following areas; Partner Engagement, Customer Connections, Sales, Quality Assurance and Operational Standards.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Regularly uses a business analysis cycle to assess the business, identify trends and guide activity that enhances the customer experience and improves results across the portfolio.
  • Balances observation, data and input from others to identify opportunities across the portfolio and within individual stores.
  • Consistently uses Ops Excellence tools to generate insight.
  • Seeks to understand organizational priorities and initiatives through the lens of their portfolio.
  • Role models creating moments of connections with customers and partners.
  • Has relationships with store partners and encourages two-way dialogue.
  • Understands the impact of their leadership footprint when leading others through change.
  • Recognizes and celebrates partners for connecting with customers and building their confidence in the experience.
  • Inspires coffee leadership within the district and encourages others to explore coffee and achieve their craft ambitions.
  • Has an intentional plan to develop manager capability; uses the discovery questions to generate insights.
  • Conducts meaningful development conversations and actively supports partner development plans.
  • Understands how SMs are embracing change in order to provide the right support while guiding them through it.
  • Proactively supports partners’ growth by sharing talent outside of the district.
  • Role models personal growth through self- awareness and reflection.
  • Review individual store PMIX and provide feedback to OPS, Marketing and Purchasing. 
Required Skills and Knowledge:
  • Candidate must have at least a first degree in Business Administration or similar discipline. 
  • Has a minimum of at least 3 years’ experience working for a globally recognized brand managing multiple units (would be an asset).
  • Experience in Development and Performance Management.
  • Experience in driving KPIs and Sales.
  • Strong interpersonal influencing skills.
  • Acts as an ambassador for Starbucks Mission of creating a legendary service experience that enriches people’s daily lives.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of business principles from multiple disciplines and ability to apply these principles in driving change/outcomes in cross-functional projects and activities. 
  • Ability to travel frequently and manage with limited oversight. 
  • Cross cultural sensitivity and adaptability to work in multiple cultures and markets. Must be able to deal with ambiguity and drive for results. 
  • Independent thinker, problem solver and demonstrated coaching skills.
