This job is a work from home opportunity. 

You will have the privilege of working remotely for a team that is part of an experienced technology/media company that builds software and provides other services to both local and regional clients.

You will have to undergo an extensive technical interview/assessment.

This is a full-time position on contract.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Developer Analyst is a highly motivated and results driven technical team member who supports the Department Manager in the creation of robust software/website systems to meet the needs of local and regional clients.

• Develop websites and high-quality code (front-end and back-end) for business applications needed to meet business objectives.
• Assist in planning, designing and the development and implementation of the company’s software systems, requirements, standards and specifications.
• Work with the Manager to define client business requirements and systems goals.
• Assist in the planning, design and development of new interfaces and enhancements to existing applications. 
• Ensure compatibility and interoperability of existing systems.
• Assist with research and identification of feasible solutions that meets business & technical requirements.
• Document all solution components according to defined standards and maintain version control over all developed components and associated documentation.
• Assess the technical impact of changes on the performance, efficiency, functionality and inter-operability of existing solutions.
• Develop a plan for the maintenance of solution components that includes periodic reviews against operational requirements such as patch management, upgrade strategies and security requirements. 
• Participate in system upgrades and other support activities as needed.
• Provide assistance, guidance or training to users where applicable. 
• Stay abreast of new technology trends in order to incorporate any relevant applications to existing or new system
• Ensure code follows latest coding practices and industry standards
• Works closely with other developers to properly understand and use API systems
• Writes both unit and integration tests, developing automation tools for daily tasks
• Suggests ideas and opinions, avoiding errors or inefficient solutions
• Be instrumental in the innovation and development of product enhancements.
• The ability to meet hard deadlines.
• Any other duties, which may be assigned. 

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

• First degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field from a recognized tertiary level educational institution
• Expert experience with application development environments and practices namely PHP
• Microsoft C# .NET Development experience
• Expert experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX and MySQL.
• Strong experience in responsive design for websites
• Sound knowledge of database systems namely MySQL
• Sound knowledge of designing and implementing business intelligence reports for both websites and desktop applications.
• Experience in support to system end-users
• Experience in ensuring availability and serviceability of application systems
• Mobile development experience would be an asset
• Experience with current windows operating systems and office products
• Experience in Mobile Apps using Xamarin/MAUI would be an asset

• Understanding the fully synchronous behavior of PHP
• Understanding of MVC design patterns
• Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
• User authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments
• Integration of multiple data sources and databases into one system
• Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes
• Working knowledge of WordPress
• Have a strong ability to learn new languages and new technologies quickly.
• Support project performance through accurate time estimates.
• Work in a professional environment where you can meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Work in a development environment where strong teamwork is essential to delivering a quality product. 

Since this is a work from home opportunity, you must have on your own, the following:

• Access to your own up to date modern PC or laptop running Microsoft Windows 10 or newer with working webcam and microphone
• PC specs must be able to run Visual Studio Code PHP Development tools and Microsoft Visual Studio .NET environment
• Must have Zoom (free version is accepted) installed and familiar with Zoom
• High Speed internet connection

Being that this is a Work from Home Opportunity, the expectation is that you are available for calls/meeting etc. during standard working hours. 

Salary and Benefits

 $4,500.00 Base salary, negotiable
