The Operations Manager leads the formulation and execution of operational plans in alignment with TECU’s strategic objectives for the Operations Department.

Position Summary 

The incumbent is part of the Senior Management team that drives revenue growth, profitability, efficiency, risk mitigation and regulatory compliance, while delivering exceptional member service experience.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Develop/Recommend and implement strategic objectives for the department that is in alignment with the organization’s strategic goals.
  • Prepare and manage the department’s annual budget.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to ensure that the Credit Union’s sales targets (loans and deposits) are met or exceeded
  • Collaborate with other Heads of Departments to develop best practices for successful business operations.
  • Assist management in considerations regarding new products/services, systems and expansion of existing systems and services as they relate to business needs.
  • Coordinate and work with Compliance Manager to administer department’s functions, ensuring conformity with the organization’s Compliance Program, other related policies and statutory obligations by establishing, monitoring, and maintaining policies and procedures.
  • Build a team of high performing Sales and Service Professionals, set and monitor KPIs, ensure achievement of budgets for all Branches and for all products.
  • Responsible for the development, updating and implementation of operations policies and procedures across all branches and units within the Operations Department.
  • Prepare monthly statistical reports as requested by management.
  • Promote a service culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality while ensuring outstanding member service. 
  • Manage all human resource related activities for direct and indirect reports and drive employee engagement
  • Manage and accountable for risk mitigation and business resiliency strategies. 
  • Responsible for monitoring and updating the workflow process for the operations department and for taking necessary measures to provide the needed support for smooth operations.
  • Provide coaching for all Managers under supervision for continuous performance improvement and develops succession plans for leadership capacity within the Operations Department.
  • Coordinate and work with Compliance Manager to administer department’s functions, ensuring compliance to the organization’s policy, legal and government regulations by establishing, monitoring, and maintaining policies and procedures
  • Manage the training and development needs of the department.
  • Lead staff meetings, communicate strategy and translate into tactical operating plans for the department.
  • Collaborate with heads of other departments to develop best practices for successful business operations
  • Perform any other related duties as required by the job function.

General Qualification and Experience

Education

  •   MBA
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)

 Experience

  •  A minimum of ten (10) years’ progressive experience in a similar environment

 Or any equivalent combination of qualification and experience

Technical Knowledge

  • Knowledge of Finance and Accounting
  • In depth knowledge of Credit Union philosophy and Credit Union operations
  • Knowledge of Information Technology and productivity software
