The Innovation Analyst will study industry & market trends, as well as user behaviour to develop valuable insights and represent the voice of the customer.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking to recruit a  suitably qualified persons to fill the position of Innovtion Analyst with our member company MC Systems - Innovation Unit.  The Innovation Unit, also known as “MADLab”, is the Research & Product Design Team within MC Systems. Through our research and community engagement activities, we explore problems and understand pain points to influence product design, satisfy our customers' needs, and create value for MC Systems. Our Mission is to MAKE A DIFFERENCE by solving the sticky problems in our community through passion, empathy, and technical expertise. The Innovation Analyst will support product design and strategy by collaborating with UX Researcher and supporting Product Managers through research and data analysis documentation. The Innovation Analyst will also study industry & market trends, as well as user behaviour to develop valuable insights and represent the voice of the customer.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop and execute on research plans to collect, analyze, and synthesize data.
    • Design qualitative and quantitative user studies to evaluate user experiences related to usability and efficacy of products and interfaces.
    • Manage, analyze and synthesize data collected from research activities – primarily qualitative data points.
    • Assess company, market, industry, and competitive landscape and develop valuable insights.
    • Assess innovation ideas to determine their feasibility, potential business benefits and alignment with the overall strategic innovation plan.
    • Maintain in-depth knowledge of products, solutions, competition, customer, industry trends and digital trends.
    • Maintain knowledge of user testing best practices and techniques with the broader organization.
    • Present research results and recommendations to stakeholders, including Product Managers, UX Designers, Software Engineers, and Executives.
    • Collaborate with multiple stakeholder groups to execute the Innovation Process to support Product Design and Strategic Planning

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

    • BSc degree or equivalent certifications in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or related field
    • At least one (1) year experience exercising skills in Project Management, Business Systems Analysis, Design Thinking, Research Methodologies & Reporting.
    • Experience with qualitative and quantitative UX research techniques such as surveys, interviews, and usability testing.
    • Experience with analyzing and synthesizing qualitative data points.
    • Experience in building compelling, and analytical stories to senior management using digital tools for data visualization & wireframing.
    • Experience in structuring analytical work, facilitating team workshops, and developing strategy recommendations with a small team.
    • Ability to define areas of potential value through user, market, and industry research.
    • Ability to look at a set of needs across the business and identify key questions, themes, and potential for business impact.

 

SPECIAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

      • Native English speaker or IELTS Level 8-9
      • Excellent Oral & Written Communication
      • Good presentation skills
      • Ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
      • Ability to work in remote and distributed teams.
      • Ability to complete tasks both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
      • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
      • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with high attention to detail
      • Adaptable to changing environments and situations.
      • Open to learning new approaches.
      • Working knowledge of productivity tools such as MURAL or other virtual whiteboard software, Microsoft Forms, Google Forms, Survey Monkey, or other related survey tools, Microsoft Office 365 – Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint
