Claims Handler

We are seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced candidate to fill the position of Claims Handler with JN General Insurance Company Limited, a member company of the JN Group Limited.

We are seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced candidate to fill the position of Claims Handler with JN General Insurance Company Limited, a member company of the JN Group Limited.

JOB CATEGORY: Clerical

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Appoint assessors and investigators.
  
• Respond to correspondence relating to third party claims.
  
• Review and maintain the accuracy of reserves.
  
• Negotiate third party claims settlement with Third Party Insurers, Brokers, Attorneys-at-Law or other third party representatives.
  
• Respond to internal and external calls/queries in a timely manner.
  
• Achieve financial, productivity and efficiency KPIs in addition to customer and broker customer service satisfaction KPIs.
  
• Authenticate claims submitted to the company.
  
• Determine liability and settling all approved third party claims within assigned limits.
  
• Recover insureds’ uninsured losses from third parties.
  

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPEREINCE

• First Degree in Business Administration or related studies
  
• Certified General Insurance Practitioner or Diploma in Insurance Studies
  
• Customer Service Certification or evidence of such formal training
  
• Two (2) years’ experience in claims handling
  

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Knowledge of general insurance principles and practices and claims processes
  
• Strong negotiating skills
  
• Intermediate analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
  
• Excellent oral, written communication (good command of the English Language), presentation and interpersonal skills
  
•  Excellent customer service skills
  
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment and on own initiative
  
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively and remain calm under pressure
  
• Proficiency in MS Office applications
