Systems Administrator

The System Administrator is responsible for supporting and developing the organization through prompt and reliable technical support, high quality service, achieving end user satisfaction .

Position: Systems Administrator 

Key Responsibilities 

• Install, configure, and maintain server hardware, operating systems, and software applications.

• Monitor system performance and ensure optimal performance and availability of all servers and networks.

• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, including network connectivity problems and server malfunctions.

• Collaborate with service providers, solution providers and other infrastructure teams.

• Perform regular system backups and ensure data integrity and disaster recovery preparedness.

• Manage specific security controls to the network and connectivity infrastructure to enhance resilience to unauthorized access.

• Coordinate and implement system upgrades and patches.

• Provide technical support on hardware, software, and network-related matters.

• Develop and maintain system documentation, including configuration guides and troubleshooting procedures.

• Maintain correct inventory levels by enforcing and ensuring that company procedures are adhered to.

• Assist in the coordination of hardware and training of personnel in the use of hardware for stock taking activities.

Qualifications & Experience 

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, from a recognized University or equivalent study.

• A Minimum of 2 years experience as a Systems Administrator.

• Certifications and/ or training in the following products or technologies preferred: Microsoft Server 2003/2008 administration (MCSA, MCITP); database administration; network administration (Network+,CCNA), data storage and tools, Microsoft Office products (MOS).

• Solid understanding of computer hardware such as CPU, Memory, Disk, Network and Bios.
