General Manager - GK Mutual Funds

The incumbent is responsible to provide leadership and direction for GK Mutual Funds (GKMF) by ensuring that strategic business plans are developed, implemented, and evaluated and ensures that targets and KPIs approved by the Board of Directors are met.  The incumbent's principal responsibilities include the overall management of the company, leadership in terms of business development, oversight for the risk management and marketing functions, staff engagement as well as achievement of financial targets as per established plans and budget. The General Manager - GKMF drives sales growth, customer acquisition and retention, and the development of business channels.

The incumbent is expected to:

• Fosters Business development and sales growth by building a strong network of industry professionals, potential clients, and partners to enhance the mutual fund's visibility and reach.
• Actively engage with key stakeholders, including institutional investors and distribution partners to successfully grow the business.
• Implement innovative client engagement strategies, leveraging technology and data analytics to deliver sound investment solutions and build long-term client relationships.
• Spearhead innovative investment strategies, exploring new asset classes, and leveraging emerging technologies to stay ahead of the competition.
• Lead the strategic planning and preparation of annual budgetary exercises of the operation.
• Recruit, and develop a high-performing team capable of executing the business strategy and achieving performance targets.
• Provide strong leadership, guidance, and mentorship to team members, enabling them to excel in their roles and realize their full potential.
• Maintain a robust control environment and oversee the implementation of risk and compliance management systems and procedures.

JOB SPECIFICATION/COMPETENCIES [Minimum]

Required Qualification, Experience, Knowledge, and skills:

• Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

• MBA in finance, business administration, or a related field with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in the financial services industry.
• Extensive experience in the mutual fund industry, with a deep understanding of investment products, distribution channels, and regulatory frameworks.
• Significant business development capabilities and proven track record of successfully driving business growth, achieving revenue targets, and expanding market share.
• Exceptional networking and relationship-building abilities, with a strong professional network in the financial services industry.
