Essential Functions of  a Collection Agent:

• Collect payments on past due bills
• Negotiate payment terms and methods when right party is reached
• Handle a high volume of calls daily, inbound and outbound
• Meet monthly collection goals as set by the department while employing a high level of professionalism.
• Respond to customer inquiries and take appropriate actions.
• Document detailed notes about customer payment and non-payment activity and record all follow up information in systems.
• Adherence to federal and state laws while dealing with the debt collection.
• Be receptive to feedback and coaching.
