Audit Senior

Baker Tilly, Chartered Accountants, is seeking to identify suitably qualified persons for the position of Audit Senior.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will:

• Plan, oversee and direct a compliant and accurate auditing process for private and public audits
• Perform substantive audit procedures, document system notes and perform walk-throughs
• Review audit working paper files
• Prepare financial statements and required disclosures in compliance with relevant standards and regulations
• Coach team members in completing working paper file
• Train and manage team members with or without any experience
• Research technical issues that arise during an engagement
• Develop risk assessment procedures to identify and assess risks
• Assist Audit manager in managing the audits, including communicating with clients
• Prepare audit budgets, monitor engagement status and budget requirements for profitable and timely completion.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

• Be pursuing or have completed level 3 ACCA, MSc. in Accounting or its equivalent
• Sound knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and International Standards in Auditing (ISA)
• At least 3-5 years’ audit experience
• At least one year experience as a Senior would be an asset
• Sound knowledge of external auditing principles and practices
• Experience in deferred tax, income tax and capital allowances calculations
• Working knowledge of CaseWare auditing software would be an asset
