Establish the standards for the issuance of Engineering Orders related to the functional systems of the aircraft, the structure, interior exterior painting, navigation and the maintenance of electrical systems and their repairs.

Job position Summary-

Establish  the standards for the issuance of Engineering Orders related to the functional systems of the aircraft, the structure, interior exterior painting, navigation and the maintenance of electrical systems and their repairs.

Similarly with limited life parts (LLPs), such as landing gears, engines, APUs, and propellers.

Design the maintenance program based on the documentation from aircraft manufacturers in compliance with the Type Certificate and applicable regulations, industry standards, operational experience and company needs and current regulatory requirements;

and guarantee the acquisition, updating, distribution and availability of the approved technical documentation of the manufacturers of aircraft, engines, propellers, components, as well as the management documentation produced by the Maintenance Department, corporate documentation and regulatory documentation as applicable.

    The Fleet engineer is responsible for-

Manage the preparation and update of the aircraft Maintenance Program in accordance with the "Maintenance Planning Document" (MPD, Maintenance Planning Document)", "Maintenance Review Board Report" (MRBR - Maintenance Review Board Report), "Maintenance Planning Guide and" (MPG - Maintenance Planning Guide), the data approved for engines, propellers and components, incorporate the changes requested by the personnel of duly justified maintenance based on operational experience according to the reports of the Reliability Program and the regulatory requirements of the Aeronautical Authorities.

Manage the approval of the Maintenance Program by the TCI CAA.

Coordinate with the person in charge of the Technical Publications area, the dissemination of the changes made to the Maintenance Programs.

Take into account the Human Factors guidelines for the design of Maintenance Programs.

Systems/Structures/Avionics Responsibilities

Evaluate and control the technical documentation from aeronautical authorities and manufacturers of Systems / Structures / Avionics as applicable to the interCaribbean Airways fleet and enter the control

system.

Make the initial request for material for modifications to Systems/Structures/Avionics as appropriate.

Update the control system of mandatory and recommended tasks and generate a projection (forecast) and respective status.

Coordinate the dissemination with the Technical Publications the changes made to the technician data and revisions of the EO/EWO to the technical staff.

Coordinate the dissemination with the Technical Publications the changes made to the technician data and revisions of the EO/EWO to the technical staff.

Provide support to the contracting processes for the purchase or lease of aircraft, components, tools or services that are related to aircraft maintenance.

Attend the periodic audits carried out by the Aeronautical Authority or any external entity, referring to its management area.

Directly support the implementation of troubleshooting processes required by Maintenance Center Control (MCC).

Make contacts with the manufacturers of Systems / Structure / Avionics to solve the problems that arise in the assigned ATAS.

Analyze and submit for approval by the TCI CAA, all engineering documentation related to Supplemental Type Certificates (STC) or field approvals for the implementation of modifications to the original aircraft design, including installation monitoring until completion operational and functional tests.

Maintain, update and control the mapping of aircraft structural damage.

Plan the removal and installation of landing gear for visits to the workshop, repair or exchange and prepare the corresponding workscope.

Provide engineering support in the area of landing gear to the operation of aircraft.

Provide support in the contracting processes for the purchase, repair, exchange or lease of landing gear and/or its components, which are related to the aircraft landing gear area.

Make contacts with the landing gear manufacturer to solve problems that are not described in the technical manuals.

Update and maintain the aircraft weight and balance control program and formally communicate the changes to the Flight Operations Department.

Engines / APU / Propellers Responsibilities

Manage the preparation and update of the aircraft Maintenance Program in accordance with the "Maintenance Planning Document" (MPD, Maintenance Planning Document)", "Maintenance Review Board Report" (MRBR - Maintenance Review Board Report), "Maintenance Planning Guideand" (MPG - Maintenance Planning Guideand), the data approved for engines, propellers and components, incorporate the changes requested by the personnel of duly justified maintenance based on operational experience according to the reports of the Reliability Program and the regulatory requirements of the Aeronautical Authorities.

Evaluate and control the technical documentation of the aeronautical authorities and manufacturers of engines, Auxiliary Power Unit (APU), propellers and accessories applicable to the interCaribbean Airways fleet and enter the control system.

Analyze and approve the results of monitoring the operating condition of engines and borescopes inspection and report any news that affects the safety of operations to the maintenance department.

Issue Engineering Orders (EO) and Engineering Work Orders (EWO), to comply with the requirements of mandatory and recommended documentation, including the change of engines when applicable.

Make the initial request for material for modifications to engines and propellers as appropriate.

Update the control system of mandatory and recommended tasks and generate a projection (forecast) and respective status.

Technical Publications Responsibilities

Establish contact with manufacturers for the acquisition of technical manuals, proformas and technical support on manufacturer documentation

Carry out the acquisition management of the technical documentation requested by the maintenance departments of interCaribbean Airways and its contracted AMO.

Maintain the availability of updated technical documentation at all stations where interCaribbean Airways operates. 

Remove obsolete documentation from computer systems.

Comply with the laws, regulations and established norms that allow the improvement of the products and services of interCaribbean Airways, acting on time on opportunities for improvement and/or risks that may affect the image or operation of the company.

Execute the other functions assigned or delegated by the competent authority. Complying with and enforcing current laws, standards, processes and legal technical procedures, in order to improve efficiency, quality and work environment at interCaribbean Airways.

Maintenance Reliability Responsibilities

Prepare and submit the monthly Reliability report of all interCaribbean Airways aircraft fleets to TCI CAA and users.

Code pilot reports, delays and technical cancellations.

Calculate and graph the dispatch reliability of the operation and use as a reference the average dispatch reliability of the operators in the industry.

Calculate and graph reports of malfunctions or technical incidents and unscheduled component changes.

Send to the aircraft manufacturers the corresponding sections of the reliability report so that they have access to a summary of failures, malfunctions, defects relevant to Airworthiness.

Issue and monitor malfunction alerts of aircraft systems or subsystems.

Calculate and graph the causes of scheduled and unscheduled removal and visits to the engine and APU workshop.

Prepare reports and graphs of rates, trends of the systems exceeded during the month.

Maintain, calculate and graph the consumption of main tires, nose and brakes.

Promote corrective actions for the alerts generated by the Reliability System.

Comply with the laws, regulations and established norms that allow the improvement of the products and services of interCaribbean Airways, acting on time on opportunities for improvement and/or risks that may affect the image or operation of the company.
