Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Pizza Chef, also known as a Pizzaiolo, to join our culinary team. As a Pizza Chef, you will be responsible for the daily preparation of a variety of pizzas, including gluten-free options, following our established menu. Your role will encompass creating exceptional pizza dough, flavorful sauces, maintaining portion control, ensuring ingredient quality, and upholding the highest standards of safety and sanitation. Your leadership skills will extend to coordinating kitchen staff, assisting them when necessary, and overseeing the preparation process.

Duration and Schedule:

This position will commence on November 1 and continue through May 15. The workweek will be 6 days, ensuring the availability to deliver exceptional pizzas throughout the week.

 

Responsibilities:

1. Pizza Preparation:

   - Craft high-quality pizza dough daily, including gluten-free options, using precise mixing and fermentation techniques.

   - Prepare a range of pizza sauces with consistent flavors, complementing our diverse menu offerings.

 

2. Portion Control and Menu Adherence:

   - Implement strict portion control guidelines to maintain consistency in pizza size and ingredients.

   - Faithfully follow our pizza menu, ensuring accurate and appealing presentation.

 

3. Ingredient Management:

   - Regularly take stock of ingredients and communicate requirements to the kitchen manager for timely ordering.

   - Oversee the responsibility for all produce orders, ensuring that supplies are adequate and fresh.

 

4. Safety and Sanitation:

   - Enforce rigorous safety and sanitation practices in the kitchen, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

   - Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and company standards.

 

5. Leadership and Coordination:

   - Supervise sous chefs and kitchen staff, providing guidance and support during ingredient preparation.

   - Coordinate kitchen activities, assigning tasks, and ensuring efficient operations.

 

6. Assistance and Collaboration:

   - Collaborate with kitchen staff during busy periods to ensure pizzas are prepared promptly without compromising quality.

   - Offer assistance and mentorship to colleagues, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

 

- Proven experience as a Pizza Chef, with a strong portfolio of pizza creations.

- Profound knowledge of pizza dough preparation, including gluten-free variations, and expertise in pizza sauce crafting.

- Demonstrated ability to maintain portion control and adhere to menu specifications.

- Familiarity with various pizza styles and the creativity to experiment with new recipes.

- Excellent organizational skills for ingredient inventory management and order coordination.

- Strong leadership capabilities, overseeing kitchen activities and supporting fellow team members.

- Commitment to upholding safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.

- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate harmoniously in a dynamic kitchen setting.

- Physical stamina and dexterity to operate kitchen equipment and stand for extended periods.
