To provide professional expertise in the procurement of goods and services for the Commission in accordance with the Government of Jamaica Public Procurement Act and Regulations.

The Broadcasting Commission seeks to hire a suitably qualified person to fill the position of:

 Manager, Public Procurement

 

Salary Range: $2,266,635 - $2,719,963 p.a.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •  Review and provide advice on procurement policies and procedures
  • Manages, monitors and controls the procurement of goods and services on behalf of the Commission
  • Act as eProcurement Coordinator and Lead Evaluator
  • Coordinate and conduct procurement compliance reviews
  • Coordinate the Commission’s procurement activities - tendering process, evaluations and contract awards
  • Ensures conformity to the Commission’s Procurement Plan
  • Procures goods and services on a competitive basis
  • Coordinate reports for submission to the MOFP, IC, PPC and Cabinet.
  • Prepare annual procurement plan and budget

 KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  •  Sound knowledge of the Public Procurement Act & Regulations and the FAA Act
  • Working knowledge of the GOJ Electronic Procurement Platform
  • Knowledge of contract management
  • Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written)
  • Ability to multitask and manage workload in a timely manner
  • Project management skills
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality and professionalism

 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management Studies or Public Administration.
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ work experience in procurement of goods and services at a supervisory level.
  • Certificate in Public Procurement
