Truck Driver

The position involves operating a delivery truck, delivering goods, interfacing with customers, collecting payments, and ensuring goods' security and condition during transit.

 Job Description:

The position functions primarily as a delivery truck operator. The driver is required to deliver goods, interface with customers, collect payments for goods sold and collect materials on behalf of the company. The driver is responsible for the security of the goods and safe return of the money paid. The driver is required to ensure the condition of goods does not change between pickup point and delivery location.

The driver maybe required to conduct miscellaneous business transactions on the road on behalf of the company.

 Key Responsibilities:

- Safely and efficiently deliver invoiced goods to customers

- Interact with customers, collect payments for goods sold, and accurately account for quantities received during deliveries.

- Conduct local material pickups and follow miscellaneous business instructions issued by Sales and Customer Service or Senior Managers.

- Maintain the company truck and ensure routine maintenance checks are performed regularly.

- Adhere to all company procedures, safety protocols, and instructions to ensure smooth operations.

 Qualifications and Experience:

- Minimum of 5 years' experience driving trucks. Note: typical delivery truck size is a 10 Tonne box truck and under.

- Secondary education with a minimum of 3 CSEC subjects.

- Possession of an Open General license

- A certificate in defensive driving would be considered a plus.

- Demonstrated ability to work together with a sideman to efficiently pack goods in a truck

- Ability to receive and carry out instructions accurately and efficiently.

- Effective route selection and time management skills.

- Safety-conscious, focused, and observant individual with a professional demeanor.

 Physical Demands:

- Ability to sit for extended periods of time and occasionally shift and maneuver drums for loading and off-loading up to 750 lbs.

- Required to wear safety shoes and other safety gear.

- Capable of lifting products weighing up to 50 lbs.

 Work Environment:

- This position involves working in both a warehouse environment and various road conditions.
