JOB DESCRIPTION

 

JOB TITLE: Senior Accounting Supervisor

 

Job Summary: The senior Accounting Supervisor will play a critical role in managing and overseeing all financial aspects of the organization and will also oversee the functions, systems and accuracy of the Raw Materials Inventory Warehouse team. This position requires a strong understanding of financial principles, analytical skills, and the ability to provide strategic financial guidance to senior management. The role will be responsible for budgeting, financial planning and analysis, risk management, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and policies. They will report directly to the General Manager.  

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare and present financial statements, reports, and analyses to senior management, board of directors, and external stakeholders.
  • Analyze financial data and provide accurate and timely reports to senior management, highlighting key insights and recommendations.
  • Monitor financial performance, identify variances, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses for potential investments or business initiatives.

Budgeting and Financial Control:

  • Collaborate with GM on annual budgeting process, collaborating with department heads to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
  • Monitor budget implementation, track expenditures, and provide regular budget variance analysis reports.
  • Develop and implement financial controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulations.

Cash Flow Management:

  • Manage cash flow, including forecasting, optimizing working capital, and monitoring liquidity.
  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate invoicing, collections, and payments.
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate financial risks and ensure adequate cash reserves.

Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and other financial reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate financial audits and assist with the preparation of audit schedules and responses.

Inventory Management:  

  • Ensure adherence to cut off times and processes of issuing materials to production and receiving of goods from suppliers are followed by inventory team. 
  • Coordinate the completion of reconciliation reports between inventory and accounts.
  • Report on overall performance of inventory team.  

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Supervise and mentor a team of professionals within finance and inventory, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment, promoting continuous learning and professional development.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is highly desirable.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in financial management or a similar capacity.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
  • Proficient in financial software and systems (e.g. Microsoft Suite, financial modeling tools).
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, regulations, and financial best practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with complex financial data.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and present financial information to stakeholders at all levels.
Salary Range - $15,000.00
