Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Pastry Chef to join our team. Your expertise in preparing a variety of mouthwatering desserts and pastries, combined with your creative flair for developing unique tastes and recipes, will be essential in delighting our guests. As an ideal candidate, you should have a strong background in culinary arts and a genuine passion for creating sweet and delectable treats. Your commitment to upholding health and safety standards is crucial to ensuring the highest quality of service for our guests. By delivering exceptional culinary experiences, we aim to enhance customer satisfaction and foster the growth of our clientele.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare a wide variety of pastries such as cakes, cookies, pies, bread, etc. following traditional and modern recipes.
  • Create new and exciting desserts to renew our menus and engage the interest of guests.
  • Decorate pastries using different icings, toppings, etc. to ensure the presentation will be beautiful and exciting.
  • Monitor stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar, etc., and make appropriate orders within budget.
  • Check the quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used for cooking.
  • Guide and motivate pastry cooks and bakers to work more efficiently.
  • Identify staffing needs and help recruit and train personnel.
  • Maintain a lean and orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation policies in all areas.
  • Any other tasks assigned by management.

Skills & Requirements.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a positive attitude
  • Proven experience as Pastry Chef, or relevant role
  • Great attention to detail and creativity
  • Willingness to replenish professional knowledge.
  • In-depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation and baking techniques, and nutrition.
  • Working knowledge of baking with ingredient limitations (pastries that are gluten-free, sugarless, etc.)
  • Certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, or relevant field
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work with a team of over 10 members with minimum supervision.
  • Good time management and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • The ability to train pastry cooks in all areas.
  • Have keen eyes for details.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, public holidays, and weekends and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
