The Portfolio Management Analyst will assist the Manager, Asset Management, in developing and executing investment strategies.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • BSc in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or equivalent from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Certification.
  • Licensed by the Financial Services Commission (FSC) or a suitable candidate for licensing.
  • At least 3 years’ work experience in investments, analysis and portfolio management.

Functional and Technical Skills:

  • Understanding and adherence to relevant financial regulations and industry best practices.
  • A strong understanding of investment principles and the ability to perform comprehensive analysis of investment opportunities.
  • Financial analysis and company valuation knowledge
  • Utilise digital tools to work productively and efficiently.
  • Utilise a digital approach to problem solving.
  • Knowledge of investment accounting and portfolio reporting systems.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Bloomberg and MS suite of products.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Power BI.
  • Excellent analytical/report writing, oral and communication skills.
  • Excellent planning and organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skill

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Asset Manager in developing and executing investment strategies for Unit Trust Portfolios and Portfolio Management clients.
  • Conduct pre-trade analysis, including what-if scenarios, to support the implementation of investment strategies.
  • Monitor and evaluate investment performance, market conditions, and regulations to recommend portfolio rebalancing.
  • Monitor and record holdings and analyse Fund performance against relevant benchmarks.
  • Ensure investment portfolios achieve targeted return and risk objectives.
  • Assist with identifying profitable investment opportunities and recommending asset acquisitions and disposals.
  • Perform financial analysis, due diligence, and maintain financial tools/models for portfolio analytics.
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify market trends and investment opportunities across asset classes.
  • Determine optimal asset allocation and asset mix for unit trust and managed portfolios.
  • Perform technical and fundamental analyses on investments based on market and financial conditions.
  • Prepare comprehensive performance reports for the Unit Trust Portfolios and Portfolio Management clients.
  • Maintain professional contacts in the investment community for valuable insights.
  • Support the Asset Management Officer and perform assigned tasks as required.
  • Assess and manage investment risks, including market, credit, and liquidity risks.
  • Assist with implementing risk mitigation strategies and monitoring risk exposures within portfolios.
  • Responsibility to support business development efforts aimed at growing AUM.
  • Assisting with the production of marketing material such as fund fact sheets, investment presentations, product brochures and articles.
  • Contribute to the preparation of the annual Asset Management Unit Business Plan and execution of business initiatives. 
  • Ensure compliance with information security policies and deliver exceptional customer experience.
  • Conducting market research, analysing investment opportunities, and providing recommendations to optimize portfolio performance.
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analyses and due diligence to support the selection of appropriate investments.
  • Ensure that investments achieve expected return and risk objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and investment policy statements.
  • Provide support to the fixed income trading desk, when required.
