COMMERICAL MANAGER

 

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

 

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Commercial Manager is generally accountable for the development and implementation of the company’s marketing strategies and plans, and for ensuring the successful achievement of the company’s pre-determined marketing objectives. The position is also responsible for the development of new business opportunities, product pricing, quoting on major projects, and inventory management.

 

Additionally, the Commercial Manager maybe responsible for the Administration Support Department. Specifically, managing, planning, coordinating, and directing all the administrative support services.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Operations

  1. Manage the portfolio of production among markets to maximize revenue monthly.
  2. Initiate and lead new product development of product mix.
  3. Initiate and lead development of new and existing markets.
  4. Develops and implements the company’s marketing and sales plan and strategies.
  5. Presents monthly reports on marketing and sales activities to Executive Team and Board of Directors.
  6. Leads and directs market research activities for the company’s products.
  7. Prepares marketing proposals and quotations, sales forecast and budgets and recommends changes in marketing policy and pricing structure.
  8. Develops strategies for improving the company’s competitive posture and for promoting increased sales.
  9. Recommends credit limits and assists in overall credit management.
  10. Trains and develops a sales workforce geared toward achieving the company’s objectives.
  11. Assist with marketing-related projects as may be determined by the Chief Executive Officer.
  12. Plan and manage the budget of the department, ensuring that sales and performance targets are achieved consistent with strategic/marketing/sale objectives.
  13. Review and proffer feedback to improve organization and communication and consistent with administrative and organizational policies.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • An MBA preferred, with specialization in marketing and/or sales management.
    • A Bachelor’s in marketing, business, management or equivalent with at least 10 years managerial experience
    • Minimum of 7 years’ senior management experience in marketing, at least five (5) of which should be in industrial marketing (mining/quarrying/engineering/machinery).
    • Must possess product development and market development skills.
    • Ability to perform economic modelling and data analytics.
    • Possess entrepreneurial skills.
    • At least two (2) years in a unionized environment
