Process Engineer
POSITION TITLE: PROCESS ENGINEER
REPORTS TO: ENGINEERING MANAGER
JOB SUMMARY
The Employee shall report to the Engineering Manager, or such other person as advised by the Company.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Employee’s Duties as Process Engineer will include the following:
Responsibilities
• Must be able to simulate gas and liquid processes on various process simulators, including HYSYS.
• Capable of building and maintaining various process simulations for gas processing plants and associated system of assets
• Monitoring the performance of gas processing plants and associated system of assets
• Working with the Operators and supervision at facilities to increase plant performance
• Must be able to prepare bid requests and scope of works, and evaluate such based-on sound engineering and business principles
• Must maintain knowledge and ability to apply engineering standards as they relate to the specific project.
• Must be able to handle assignments and projects with minimal supervision and complete within acceptable time standards.
• Must be capable of providing equipment specifications as per standards and order appropriate materials for projects
• Must have broad knowledge of natural gas processing and operations
• Must be able to troubleshoot operational issues and resolve a variety of operational problems utilizing sound engineering practices. Develop and recommend opportunities for plant debottlenecking, improvements, and modifications.
• Provides capital and expense project support. Under supervision conducts feasibility and simulation studies evaluating economic value and impact on existing control systems’ installations. Reviews project documentation, drawings, equipment specifications and complex loop narratives.
• Capable of completing commercial evaluation on projects including NPV, IRR and payback on projects.
• Participates on teams to support operations activities such as process unit alarm management defect elimination, Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Management of Change (MOC) and Pre/Post Post-Start Up Safety Review (PSSR). Capable of leading HAZOPS and Risk Assessments.
• Supporting with contractor management activities
• Liaises with service providers and suppliers as required for projects and O&M support
• Capable of drafting and implementing engineering procedures required as part of Company’s operating management system
• Experience with and understanding of process safety elements and fundamentals desirable
• Always work in a safe manner.
• Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional associations.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• 5 – 10 years of oil and gas engineering experience required, with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering with demonstrated experience in Natural Gas Processing & NGL conditioning, treating, processing and compression or equivalent Petrochemical industry experience.
• Experience in brownfield modifications – Concept, FEED and detailed design.
• Ability to integrate data from various sources into engineering calculations.
• Ability to accurately solve problems.
• Ability to be available 24 hours per day (on call for questions, emergencies, etc.).
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public.
• Ability to complete, multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities through effective time management. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with specific ability to translate complex information into an organized and presentable manner.
WORK CONDITIONS
• Working Hours: 7am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday
• Location- Primarily based at CLIENT’s Plant. Role will also require occasional offshore visits to an NUI. TBOISET will be an asset or Travel Safety by boat is required but will be provided if the candidate does not possess either.
• Minimum 12-month contract, with the option of extending to 3- 4 years
• Tentative start: March 2023.
