Job Tittle:  Cashier / Counter Attendant

Reports to: Operation / Quality Control Manager

 

Job Role and Summary:

The employee shall be responsible for processing cash, debit, credit, and check transactions to both internal and external customers. Also overseeing general counter activities, He / She is responsible of creating a positive and welcome customer experience, handles and promotes the retail products and services that the company offers at branches and Nationwide. Flexible to work shift hours included holidays. Excellent Communication skills.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Adequate attitude to welcome /greetings customer when visiting the store.
  • To handle and promotes the products by helping and suggesting the customers on the various products offered at the branch.
  • Ensure that customers are attended on a timely manner.
  • Respond to customers request in the absent or unavailability of another attendant.
  • Provide customer with price information.
  • Balance cash at the beginning of the shift to ensure the amounts are correct and that there is adequate change. At no time should cash allowed to accumulate at the cashier’s station.
  • Balance cash at the end of shift and secure until is handover to next shift.
  • Process all payments types and reconcile all receipts and cash to match the relevant.
  • Obtain manual authorizations and follow all payments processes when computer system is down.
  • Fill out the relevant forms provided in the system for the branch records keeping of activities or/and products.
  • Show customer appreciation for their transaction.
  • Accurate records for branch stock’s inventory, open and closing of each shift.
  • Assist in the baking of pastries.
  • To ensure all shelves are well pack and presented for customers viewing.
  • To monitor the stock’s ingredients expiry date.
  • Monitor the visual appeal and availability of goods in display.
  • Monitor the weighing, pricing, packaging the products as required.
  • Overseeing and monitor that counters are clean and tidy at all time.
  • Report on low stock on a timely manner for effective replenishment.
  • Be responsible and taking control of daily clean up procedure at the store.
  • Managing customers complaints and feedback and relaying them to manager/supervisor.

 

 

Qualification and Experience:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

The requirements listed below are representative of knowledge and skill, and /or ability required.

  • Minimums of one (1) year as a cashier/ counter attendant position.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experienced in food preparation/restaurant service/ culinary related- work.
  • Minimum of five (5) CXC/GCE O’Level Passes (inclusive of Mathematics and English).
  • Supervisory Training Certificate would be an asset.
  • Customer Service Training Certificate would be an asset.
  • Computer Literate with working knowledge of Word and Excel.
  • Good organizational communication skill.
  • Ability to motivate and lead team of staff.
  • Combination of work-related experience in a similar environment and education will also be considered.
