Human Resource Manager 

J. Astaphan & Company Limited is seeking to recruit a responsible, team-oriented, personable and highly confidential individual to plan, direct, and coordinate the administrative functions of its organization. The HR Manager will oversee the recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of new staff; consult with Directors on strategic planning; and serve as a link between the organization's management and its employees.

JOB SUMMARY:

  • Manage the recruitment and selection process to ensure Astaphans attracts and retains the right caliber of staff.
  • Manage the performance development process ensuring employees possess and/or acquire the requisite skills and knowledge to effectively and efficiently execute their respective functions.
  • Develop and maintain succession planning arrangements for all business units to ensure the highest level of business continuity.
  • Develop, implement and maintain human resource across the organization including training programs for employees
  • Ensure comprehensive roll-out and effective implementation of all Human Resource Policies and Procedures.
  • Reporting and management of human resources metrics – produce reports on metrics, including absenteeism and turnover
  • Analyze and provide recommendations for modifying compensation and benefits policies to establish competitive programs and ensure compliance with legal requirements
  • Mentor direct reports and provide coaching to help them reach their potential.
  • Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or Business Administration
  • Minimum of five years’ human resource generalist experience
  • HR Certification (PHR or SHRM-CP) is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of OSHA laws and Health and Safety best practices
  • Strong computer skills including a high proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects/tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to be flexible, self-motivated, stay calm under pressure and resolve issues quickly
  • Knowledge of Astaphans policies and procedures is an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral/written communications skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others
  • Ability to execute functions with minimum supervision
  • Exceptional presentation, communication and organization skills
