Maintenance Manager

Associated Manufacturers Ltd. (Walkerswood brand) located in St. Ann, Jamaica is seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the position of Maintenance Manager.

Accountability Objectives

To ensure that a documented planned maintenance schedule which includes all plant and processing equipment is maintained. To maintain up to date records of all maintenance activities in accordance with Food Safety Programs.

To ensure that all maintenance jobs are completed in a timely, safe, and responsible manner.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assign jobs to specific personnel and provide coordination among maintenance functions.
  • Evaluate functionality and reliability of all plant equipment identifying problems and requirements.
  • Maintain function and reliability of all plant machinery by means of an effective preventative maintenance program, operating and testing systems and equipment, restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts.
  • Ensure human resource objectives are met by requesting the necessary personnel or training.
  • Ensure that good safety practices are followed.
  • Assist in all work areas when and where needed.
  • Supervise and train the maintenance personnel for maximum productivity.
  • Establish, monitor, and evaluate the preventive maintenance program.
  • Review work orders to ensure proper documentation and issue Requisitions in a timely manner.
  • Overhaul and replace parts according to schedule.
  • Respond immediately to machinery breakdowns.
  • Find and fix faults and recalibrate instruments.
  • Keep Managers informed of progress.
  • Maintain all equipment manuals, equipment warranties and tool inventories.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding the operations of the plant.
  • Prepare all required reports and maintain all appropriate records in a timely manner.
  • Keep Factory Manager informed of all potential problems or unusual events.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
  • At least 2 years relevant work experience
  • Training and experience in equipment maintenance, machinery repair, plumbing, boiler repair, electrical, carpentry, painting and repairing of all building infrastructure.
