Data Scientist

We are seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced candidate to fill the position of Data Scientist with JN General Insurance Company Limited, a subsidiary company of the JN Financial Group Limited.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES   

• Perform descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, prescriptive and cognitive analytics.
  
•   Understand business financial statements (knowledge of Insurance Financial Statements is a plus).
  
• Create models that monitor important business metrics (IBNR, Sales Performance, Claims Management).
  
• Evaluating and defining metrics (KPIs).
  
• Create data driven models (Statistics, ML, AI) to make recommendations and answer key business questions.
  
•  Identify business challenges & opportunities for product/service improvements.
  
• Apply expertise in data cleaning & wrangling, quantitative analysis, data mining.
  
• See beyond the numbers and understand how users interact with our consumers and products.
  
•  Partner with Marketing and Underwriting teams to solve problems and identify trends and opportunities.
  
• Inform, influence, support, and execute product decisions and product launches.
  
•   Monitoring key product metrics, understanding causes of changes in metrics.
  
•   Building and analyzing dashboards and reports.
  
• Proposing what to build in the next roadmap.
  
•  Understanding ecosystems, user behaviors, and long-term trends.
  
• Identifying new levers to help move key metrics.
  
•  Building models of user behaviors for analysis or to power production systems.
  
•  Influencing various internal teams through the presentation of data-based recommendations.
  
• Communicating the state of business, experiment results, etc. to key stakeholders.
  
•  Spreading best practices to analytics and product teams.
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree with a focus in Data Science, Analytics, Math, Statistics, or Computer Science.
  
• At least two (2) years’ work experience performing quantitative and qualitative data analysis with experience in report writing and presentation of findings.
  
• Proficient or familiar with Programing Data querying languages (e.g. SQL, DAX, Python).
  

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate large volumes of data with attention to detail and accuracy
  
•  Mathematics, Programming and Statistics
  
•  Applied statistics or experimentation (i.e. A/B testing) in an industry setting
  
• Communicating the results of analyses to product or leadership teams to influence the strategy
  
• Knowledge of Cloud computing (Microsoft, AWS, GCP) in the areas of Data & Analytics (AI, ML) is a plus
  
• Familiar with REST APIs, data extraction and cleaning techniques
