INVENTORY & WAREHOUSE CLERK
ROLE & CORE FUNCTION
The incumbent is responsible for requesting, receiving and the proper recording of all goods and materials received by the company, and maintaining accurate and timely stock records.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Prepare purchase requisitions for all raw materials, packaging, labels and miscellaneous items related to the production processes
- Follow up with Purchasing Officer/Agent to ensure items requested are ordered.
- Receive raw materials, packaging and other items – inspect to ensure items are received in good condition, and that quantities correspond to packing sheet/invoice documentation.
- Reports damaged items received to Q. A. Manager and Purchasing Officer on the same day it is received.
- Immediately reports short-delivered goods to the Purchasing Officer for reconciliation with supplier/broker.
- Records all items received, by the end of each day.
- Receives manufactured goods into the warehouse as stock.
- Checks goods retrieved from stores for production
- Checks records on spillage and damaged raw materials, as recorded by Dispensing Clerk. Submits such reports to the Supervisor each week.
- Verifies raw materials dispensed by the Dispensing Clerk for production.
- Maintains regular stock checks on all items and prepares reports on M.O.L. on a weekly basis. Reviews and make recommendations for increasing MOL’s
- Prepares monthly sugar usage reports for Notifies Inventory Officer as to danger levels for stock items
- Recommends revised MOL on raw materials periodically where necessary
QUALIFICATIONS
High School graduate with passes in five CXC subjects including english & mathematics or equivalent, Certificate or Diploma in Inventory & Warehouse Procedures.
EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of one year working experience in a similar capacity is required.
SPECIALIZED TECHNIQUES/KNOWLEDGE
-Proficiency in the use of spreadsheet programs eg. (Microsoft excel).
-Ability to utilize reporting software to provide written reports
-Excellent communication and analytical skills
