Role Description

The Business Operations Lead role will focus on increased productivity and opportunities to lower costs while improving workflows and minimizing friction points. This role is best for a talented leader with the skills to develop and implement a programmatic approach to resource management, stakeholder communication, process improvement and automation.

As Business Operations Lead, you will be part of the Operations team that is responsible for building and managing a scalable operating environment for a fast-growing mobile payment app with multiple external partners and internal, cross-functional stakeholders.  The incumbent will support the management of the applications P2P, P2M, CBDC (Central Bank Digital Currency) and Remittance businesses. In addition, the Lead will be responsible for helping to identify and remediate operational issues in multiple areas as well as managing key external partners, participating in cross-functional projects and supporting product development.

An important part of this role is to create data visualizations to develop insights that will help move the business forward. 

Core Responsibilities

  • Drive operational efficiency, continuous improvement, and enhanced customer experience in an Agile operating environment.
  • Collaborate with the top team to develop and implement plans for the operating infrastructure of the systems and processes designed to accommodate our organization's rapid growth objectives.
  • Evaluate and support prioritization of growth opportunities, including new products, features and segments, with a clear structure and analytical rigour.
  • Ensure adherence to risk, fraud, and compliance guidelines aligned to the relevant regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Support company-wide training programs, reinforcing tech and operations infrastructure between departments to ensure compliance with consistency and quality standards.
  • Work closely with cross-functional management teams on strategic projects, product rollouts, bringing timely and valuable operational insight and analytical support.
  • Play an integral role in creating and managing long-term goals, and operating plans and work to define success metrics.
  • Participate and drive key business processes, including strategic planning, business case and return on investment analysis, as well as monitoring and evaluation of key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Assesses and analyze departmental budgets to find ways to minimize expenses and optimize profits.
  • Represent the company with customers and business partners. Develop, improve, and train staff on the procedures and controls related to customer funds' movement, including active use of internal platforms and third-party partnerships.
  • Supervise, coach, develop, and mentor direct reports. 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master's degree in business or Bachelors' Degree in Economics, Operations, Management Studies or related field 
  • A minimum of eight years' strong operational experience
  • Proven experience in scaling teams within a new Operations Business Unit for start-up initiatives

 Required Skills:

  • Process automation (RPA)
  • Business Process Management tool
  • CRM configuration
  • Data base analysis through python or for advanced performance management or advanced data visualization through Power BI, Tableau or similar suites
