HUMAN RESOURCE OFFICER

 

 

JOB SUMMARY

 

The position of Human Resource Officer is a supervisory position which reports to the Human Resource Manager. The incumbent is responsible for providing support in the various human resource functions, which include recruitment, staffing, training and development, performance monitoring, staff wellness and compensation and benefits.

 

Minimum qualifications & experience:

 

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations.
  • Certifications in Mediation, Industrial Relations, and other related programmes.
  • At least five (5) years working in a Human Resource Environment with three years at supervisory level.
  • Knowledge of policies, systems, and techniques in the discipline of Human Resource.
  • Knowledge and understanding of principles, practices and laws that govern the conduct of Industrial Relations.

 

main duties and responsibilities:

 

  • Provide support to supervisors and staff to develop the skills and capabilities of staff.
  • Provide assistance in developing Human Resource plans.
  • Provide advice and recommendations on disciplinary actions.
  • Assist in maintaining favorable relations among employees.
  • Administer Employee Benefit Programmes, such as Pension, Group Health Plan, National Insurance Claims, Workman’s Compensation etc.
  • Assist in development of company bargaining proposals for employee benefits and analyzes union benefit demands. Obtain and prepare cost data for company and union proposals and final settlement.
  • Assist with preparation of job descriptions.
  • Conduct Industrial Relations Research or the Resolution of Industrial Relations Issues.
  • Attend Conciliation meetings at the Ministry of Labour and Industrial Court for taking direction on behalf of the company.
  • Liaise with recognize majority union to organize and plan meetings.
  • Promote workplace safety.
  • Administer Payroll.
  • Advise on pay and other remuneration issues, including promotion and benefits.
  • Provide Industrial Relations advice, guidance and support to management and staff.
  • Assist Managers, Supervisors, and staff with the interpretation of Human Resource Policy Memorandum of Agreement and Industrial Labour Laws and ensure compliance.
