Senior Manager, Investment & Treasury

SENIOR MANAGER, INVESTMENT & TREASURY
Position Summary
The Senior Manager, Investment & Treasury will report to the Chief Financial Officer and will be responsible for managing the Investment and Treasury Portfolios of The Bank of Nevis Limited (BON) in accordance with approved policies and guidelines and ensuring that procedures are followed in order to manage and control the risk and quality of investment securities.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
▪ Recommend new investment securities/products to the Internal Management Investment Committee (IMIC) – includes conducting research and analysis and preparing detailed investment proposals;
▪ Oversee the preparation of the monthly Investment and Treasury report for the Group, for presentation to Management and to the Board level Investment Committee for monthly meetings.
▪ Oversee the accounting cycle for the Group’s Portfolios, and ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS);
▪ Manage the Group’s treasury operations in accordance with approved policies and guidelines, and ensure compliance with regulatory and other approved benchmarks;
▪ Responsible for the accuracy, completeness and reconciliation of all financial information processed within the Investment and Treasury Unit, ensuring the integrity of financial data and monitoring the reconciliation of these investment accounts;
▪ Manage the budget, forecast, and reporting processes for the Investment and Treasury Unit;
▪ Implement and periodically review the Investment strategy to ensure an optimal mix of risk and return in line with the bank’s risk tolerance and strategy;
▪ Serve as the Group’s primary liaison officer to investment brokers, investment money managers and correspondent banks;
▪ Manage the Brokerage operations and serve as Registered Principal, in accordance with the procedures, policies, and guidelines set forth by the Eastern Caribbean Securities Regulatory Commission and the Eastern Caribbean Securities Exchange. Ensure that the delivery of service to the brokerage clients are maintained at a high standard;
▪ Serve as a member of the IMIC for the Group and as support for the Board level Investment Committee;
▪ Assist with the management of the Finance Department – includes assisting with the management of the annual financial audit.
Experience & Qualifications
▪ Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
▪ Master’s Degree in Finance or Accounting – would be an asset
▪ CFA or equivalent certification in Investments or Finance – would be an asset
▪ Minimum 7 years of senior level experience in finance and/or investment and treasury management of which 5 years must be at a supervisory level.
Skills & Attributes
▪ Strong background in finance and investments, including comprehensive knowledge and understanding of capital markets, fixed income markets and macroeconomic fundamentals.
▪ Working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), specifically as they relate to accounting for investments.
▪ High level of proficiency in the use of financial analytical tools such as Bloomberg.
▪ Knowledge of banking – would be an asset.
▪ Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite with an advanced understanding of Microsoft Excel and Word software applications.
▪ Excellent analytical, presentation and report writing skills.
