Warehouse & Factory Attendant

Key functions packing, packaging and picking stock, operating the forklift and pallet jack, preparing containers for export, assisting with stock counts, maintaining a clean environment in warehouse/factory and environs.

Job objective:

The incumbent should have a good work ethic, be physically fit, have strong attention to detail, and be able to follow instructions. Maintain proper punctuality, and have a good understanding of metrics and vocabulary. The attendant is expected to be a team player and is responsible for the following functions:

Principal duties and functions:

• Handle and arrange products to be shipped.
• Pack and shrink-wrap materials and products.
• Operate forklifts to handle products and pallet jack safely.
• Arrange and organize products and materials in an organized manner.
• Prepare and verify shipment orders.
• Be able to accompany a driver when needed.
• Maintain inventories in the warehouse according to FIFO standards.
• Minimizes wastage of materials during packing
• Operates the Packing machine responsibly following the standards of the Department.
• Takes and submits samples of liquid resins and powdered products to the Quality Control Technician, on a set schedule or as and when necessary, records the weights of all products accurately and timely in the log book provided.
• Records any problems with the packing machine and reports same immediately to the Production Operations Manager or maintenance personnel.
• Inspect and verify products, materials, and equipment before storing them in the warehouse.
• Execute loading and unloading operations.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and practices in warehouse operations.
• Assist diligently in the occasional stock count to ensure accuracy.
• Be able to ascertain the weights of raw materials and finished goods.
• Ensure daily inventory movements to and from production and document verification.
• To work shift duties as and when required following a set roster.
• Ensures that the Plant & Warehouse area is always kept in a clean, safe condition, and orderly by assisting in servicing, repairing, and cleaning plant, warehouse and environs.
• Updates the relief Packer on all problems that occurred during the shift.
• Accommodate any other task deemed necessary by your manager.

• General Qualification Requirements:
• Experience & Education:
• Minimum: One (1) year of working experience in a similar or related job;
• Three CXC O’Level passes or a minimum of One Year of Training and experience in a similar/equivalent portfolio;
• Forklift certification and Defensive driving certificate is an asset.
