This opportunity as a Technical Operator will work closely with the Service Engineer, Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Technicians, Operators, and Clients. Required to work on Saturdays and Sundays, will be scheduled on days where emergency call out is required to plants.

Professional People Partners Limited is a full-service HR Consultancy Company that is recruiting a Technical Operator on behalf of our client. The Technical Operator will report to the Maintenance Supervisor and be responsible for the operation of the CHP Plants. The incumbent’s primary role is to ensure the smooth operation of the CHP plant and attend to issues and/or plant shutdowns while on shift and assists with the maintenance of the CHP plants as well as planned and unplanned downtime activities.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Safely operate and monitor and the combined heat and power plant (CHP) installed by the Company, which include generators and associated equipment.
  • Safely assist in the planned and unplanned maintenance under supervision on the CHP plant as assigned.
  • Safely assist with the execution of major overhauls on the CHP Plant as assigned.
  • Safely troubleshoot and assist Technicians and OEM engineers in resolving faults and issues with the CHP plant and associated equipment.
  • Collect data and information as required on engines and other equipment and provide reports as required.
  • Input maintenance activities, new work orders and complete work orders in the computer maintenance management system.
  • Complete daily logs and do frequent walkabouts of CHP plant to identify potential issues, correct potential issues and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Communicate with team members of the company sites assigned, as required to safely provide; electricity, and/or hot water and/or steam from the CHP plant.
  • Perform work on projects to execute, monitor and feedback on projects installation.

 

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma in Engineering or industrial discipline.
  • 2 – 3 years’ experience in a maintenance organisation
  • Experience in an industrial environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications particularly in Word, Excel & Project.
  • Ability to use intuitive web-based platforms.
  • Able to plan, organise and manage information to create an effective maintenance program for large industrial site.
  • Must own and be able to operate a reliable motor car.
  • Able to work on Saturdays and Sundays.
