The FSC has an immediate opening for the position of External Relations Coordinator
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Job Holder is required to plan, organize, and host conferences, seminars, and meetings which are mechanisms for knowledge sharing oriented collaborations. The External Relations Coordinator ensures that the organisation maintains a clear and strong public presence – brand FSC, that is known to the public across key sectors and stakeholders locally, regionally, and internationally.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Plans and organises all industry-related conferences and liaises with local and international counterparts to ensure the orderly and efficient management of the required logistics.
- Tracks, researches, and assesses current events and determine their compatibilities with FSC’s objectives and the needs of its stakeholders.
- Plans and organises meetings with local, regional, and international associations.
- Provides secretariat functions to regional associations.
- Route requests for technical and non-technical assistance from relevant stakeholders to the appropriate division and key internal stakeholders.
- Assists in developing and communicating the organisation's position statement to ensure a clear and strong presence in the local, regional and international communities.
- Establishes a user-friendly system for the archiving and easy retrieval of all information relating to conferences, seminars, meetings, TA missions and other related events.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, Marketing or Public Relations or, related discipline.
- The job requires at least 3 years’ relevant work experience in a comparable position and business.
- Working knowledge of Diplomatic Protocols and Protocols Regarding Meetings and Conferences.
