MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for conducting preventative maintenance, repairs and upkeeping the overall reliability of the production equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform Preventative Maintenance including cleaning of the machines.
• Daily checks for machinery as per plan (All mechanical checks - rotation, cleanliness, clearances, general operation)
• Greasing all Machines as required
• Breakdown repairs- bearings, rollers, replacement of various other parts
• Troubleshooting of a range of issues of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical natures
• Replacement of hydraulic and gear oil
• Update records for all repairs/ PM’s for all machinery
• Update stocked parts and monitor.
• Order parts for Mechanical & Electrical Departments

Qualification and Skill Requirements

• Mechanical Technicians Diploma or Certification in Industrial Maintenance.
• Any relevant training or certification in Machine Maintenance and repairs will be an asset.
• Proven experience as a maintenance Technician
• Good understanding of safe work practices.
• Ability to Trouble shoot and repair mechanical problems.
• Ability to Troubleshoot and perform repairs on Pneumatic and hydraulic systems ie Pumps, actuators, Valves, Compressors etc.
• Ability to trouble shoot and perform repairs on rotating equipment – Gear boxes, couplings, motor and shaft alignment, conveyors etc.
• Experience performing repairs and Preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment will be an asset.
• Good understanding of proper maintenance practices.
• Ability to assess wear parts and operations while performing Preventative Maintenance
• Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work overtime.
• Ability to read and understand Equipment manuals.
• Willing to work on shift rotation.
