Conduct tyre services, routine vehicle inspections, sale of company products, and perform battery warranty services. This role is also responsible for the storage, handling, and preparation of batteries and tyres
Duties and Responsibilities
Generate a gentle relationship with customers and extend the highest quality of service.
Align vehicles, including toe, camber and caster.
Remove wheels off vehicles / Install wheels on vehicles.
Dismount tyres off rims.
Fit tyres on rims.
Balance tyres.
Repair tyres (patches and plugs).
Rotate wheels on vehicles.
Fill up tyres with air or nitrogen.
Check and install batteries on vehicles.
Provide the Branch Supervisor with technical information about jobs performed.
Load and offload delivery vans and trucks with batteries, tyres and other inventory items.
Assist in the checking and offloading of batteries and other goods received from supplier or inter-branch delivery and pack into the designated warehouse.
Sweep Floors: Blow out workshop area and entrance to level of presentability mornings and afternoons.
Old tyres storage: Ensure that old tyres area is up to standard (all tyres packed neatly, old tyres easily recognized for discarding, claims in a separate area to old tyres).
Tools Assembly: Assemble all necessary tools for the day's work at respective work station or for nightly storage.
Tools and Equipment maintenance: tidy up and clean up tools / clean down all equipment (alignment machine, all ramps, balancing machine(s), tyre changer(s) and rack(s)).
Tools storage: Store all tools and equipment neatly and at all times.
Tyres storage: Ensure that all new tyres are packed neatly as per instructions given by supervisor.
Inventories: Partipicate in monthly or weekly stock counts with branch supervisor.
Conduct routine vehicle inspections, communicate results to customers, and recommend company products where appropriate.
Conduct battery failure analysis and where appropriate perform battery warranty settlement.
Ensure that you are properly attired and wearing all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Refer customers to your supervisor where their needs extend beyond your ability to deliver the highest quality of service.
Maintain a safe, orderly, and clean working environment and ensure that at the end of the day the department is ready for the next days work.
Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Report any issue that may affect your performance or the performance of the department to your supervisor or senior authority.
Any other task which your Supervisor or the Departmental Manager may assign to you from time to time in order to discharge the purpose of the job.

Enthusiastic with the ability to work as part of the team.
Dynamic with the ability to establish priorities, work independently and proceed with objectives without supervision.
Qualifications and Experience
3 CXC passes including English and Mathematics.
Vocational training in automotive, mechanical or electrical systems will be an asset.
