JOB TITLE:                            Deputy Director Survey and Mapping

 

DEPARTMENT:                     Survey and Mapping Department

LOCATION:                           The job is based in Grand Turk but at the discretion of TCI Public Service may be relocated to another part of TCI.

JOB SUMMARY:

This is a senior management position with responsibility for the administration of the Survey & Mapping Department (Grand Turk) and the enforcement of the Survey Ordinance throughout TCI.  The job holder will oversee the Department's daily functions, manage the staff, and assist the public in Land and Survey matters.

 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Ensure that survey regulations are enforced
  2. Liaise with the Director and Commissioner of Land about recommendations for necessary amendments to the Survey Ordinance
  3. Ensure that systems are in place to educate the public and answer queries regarding Land/Survey.
  4. Ensure that revenues from Surveys are effectively raised, efficiently collected and accurate records are kept
  5. Manage daily department operations
  6. Supervise and instruct staff
  7. Prepare and submit monthly reports regarding surveys and revenue collection to the Director
  8. Assist in preparing the department’s budget
  9. Ensure budgetary compliance
  10. Oversee the maintenance of LIS database
  11. Supervise the maintenance of an attendance register of all staff, including those attached to the District Offices and report to the Director monthly on the attendance and punctuality of staff.
  12. Compile and submit monthly reports on the activities and achievement of the District  office in Providenciales
  13. Be responsible for the effective management and administration of the Survey & Mapping Department Offices during the absence of the Director
  14. Adhere to all Public Service codes, rules and regulations
  15. Perform other related tasks as assigned.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

 

  • At least a bachelor’s degree in Surveying and Mapping or Geometrics or another relevant field of study is essential.
  • A relevant postgraduate qualification is desirable.

 

Experience:          

The position requires a minimum of five (5) years relevant experience in a related field, of which at least three (3) years at a senior level, to respond to the challenges of the function.

 

SALARY:

  • Grade 9.1: $63,792.64 per annum plus allowances
