Co-ordinates, directs and controls the day-to-day operations of the Public Transport Service Corporation (PTSC) within the Sangre Grande depot.

The Public Transport Service Corporation (PTSC), in its drive towards improving and expanding its services, is pleased to invite applications for the following CONTRACT position.

DEPOT MANAGER – SANGRE GRANDE

SUMMARY

Co-ordinates, directs and controls the day-to-day operations of the Public Transport Service Corporation (PTSC) within the Sangre Grande depot.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supports the Deputy General Managers in supervising daily operations, maintenance and administration support services of the depot
• Conducts a walk around the premises prior to beginning the day’s activities to evaluate the operations and maintenance after which the Depot Manager shall report to the General Manager and/or Deputy General Managers upon completion of these inspections
• Communicates with the Operations Department to ensure that signing boards are in place for all routes and buses on the run to depart on time
• Monitors operations ensuring that all Driver/Conductors receive information as it relates to the service and/or any route changes
• Rides regularly on various services to learn directly the opportunities and challenges of the service from the perspectives of the employees and customers and submit route observations monthly
• Assists the Department Heads with the supervision of assigned staff; communicates job requirements and follows up on all customer issues and/or queries in a timely manner
• Assists in problem-solving and Human Resource grievances as it relates to employees, taking the initiative to ensure that the specific depot runs effectively and efficiently
• Takes corrective action with an employee who fails to meet established PTSC policies and procedures
• Ensures optimum staffing levels for both operations, maintenance and other department within the specified depot
• Establishes implements and sustains a maintenance program in accordance with customer mandates and regulatory requirements
• Maintains vehicles in a safe, clean and reliable manner to ensure customer satisfaction
• Establishes a quality assurance program in accordance with the maintenance manual
  • Establishes a maintenance self-audit program in accordance with the maintenance manual
  • Remains technically competent on current, as well as industry trends, methods and technologies. Attend internal and external seminars and workshops as appropriate
  • Monitors productivity, fleet reliability and performance vehicle cleanliness and all aspects of safety.
  • Establishes preventive maintenance schedules and ensures full compliance
  • Reviews reports daily to ensure timely and proper handling of vehicle defects, parts orders, and work orders.
  • Any other work entrusted by Assistant Deputy General Manager-Operations
