Graceway Supermarkets is seeking to hire suitably qualified persons to fill several Permanent/full-time entry level positions.

Cashiers

Job Summary: Provide excellent service to our customer by greeting, offering assistance and thanking them for their business. Promptly responds to customer queries and efficiently operate the cash register by following established cash handling procedures and duties associated with it.  

Duties/Responsibilities

• Ensure that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer.
• Maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other aspects of customer service
• Shall maintain an awareness of all promotions and advertisements
• Must accurately and efficiently enter purchases into cash register to calculate total purchase price
• Perform sales transactions for all payment methods according to established procedures
• Communicate customer request and or complaints to management
• Maintain orderly appearance of register area at all times
• Balance cash drawer and receipts; document discrepancies
• Assists customers in locating specific items
• Assists in other areas of store, such as clean-up, shelf–stocking, or keeping merchandise displayed in an orderly manner
• Returns grocery items left at checkout counter to stock shelves as required

 General Requirements

• Friendly attitude
• Ability to lift 50 to 75 lbs.
• Ability to bend, stoop and reach and stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to work in hot and cold environments
• Ability to work on weekends and Holidays
• Retail and customer services experience preferred
• Must have a clean Police Record
• Experience with the operations of POS system is an advantage

 Educational Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Good Mathematical Skills
• Good Command of English Language both oral and written
• Basic Knowledge of Computers

Compensation

Wage Range Per Hour: US$9.50 – US$12.50
