Our Client, an organisation in the Insurance Sector, is currently seeking to recruit an Actuarial Analyst – IFRS 17 Valuation to join their Valuation team.

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Participates in monthly and quarterly actuarial valuation.
  • Prepares valuation reports for all regions that the company operates in.
  • Implements, maintains, and improves the actuarial valuation models in AXIS.
  • Participates in IFRS17 Implementation Project
  • Maintains and optimizes IFRS17 models
  • Prepares in depth analysis for various purposes such as sensitivity test, capital adequacy and risk management.
  • Improves the valuation process by identifying inefficiencies.
  • Performs any other duties as assigned.

  

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or Finance with a strong background in Mathematics including Calculus, Probability and Statistics.
  • Good progress towards the Associate level designation along with two to five (2-5) years’ experience in a similar capacity.
  • Knowledge of IFRS17 standard and experiences with IFRS17 implementations
  • Knowledge of the Canadian reserving standards and rules, e.g. CALM, LICAT, MCCSR, etc.
  • Proficiency in the use of any actuarial modelling software although experience in the use of AXIS would be an asset.
  • A high level of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Software with strong Excel skills in particular.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills along with good organisational skills.
  • Detailed oriented.
  • Deadline driven with good time management skills.
  • Possesses deep intellectual curiosity and strong analytical skills.
  • Previous experience in a financial services environment would be an asset.
