IT Technician / System Support

 Job Title:    IT Technician                            

Reports to: Chief Technical Officer

Liaises with:Heads of Department, Cinema Managers 

Objective: Provide support to the Chief Technical Officer to implement and support IT based systems to include Cinema Systems, accounting based systems and the general network infrastructure

Prerequisite

  • Professional certification (e.g. CCNS, CISSP, MCSE)
  • Related certification at the technical or tertiary level
  • Two years experience in a similar role
  • Proven networking skills
  • Working knowledge in programming
  • Exposure to Linux based systems,.
  • Knowledge of SQL database as well as Windows management servers 
  • Experience in solving a variety of desktop and user issues, within an IT environment
  • Good analytical and technical skills, and sound judgment
  • Sound oral and written communication skills
  • Good time management

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure network security through passwords, user profiles, backup and general maintenance of files and offsite storage
  • Provide information and training network security and best practices for computer usage
  • Monitor and maintain
  • Cinema Digital Projectors and Servers
  • Telecommunication Systems, to include PBX, Fibre connections, CISCO routers, CUG phones
  • Provide technical support to the Call Centre and Cinemas as required (on call)
  • Install new software and hardware components.
  • Evaluate IT systems to ensure they meet the necessary demands
  • Assist with network administration tasksEnsure data storage is safe and secure
  • Resolve all IT systems and software issues
  • Support day-to-day operations of computer network.

 Any other relevant duties that may be assigned by the Chief Technical Officer
