To coordinate and monitor the implementation of the preventative and corrective maintenance requirements for the company’s plant and equipment so as to ensure the achievement of desired reliability standards.

  • Coordinate the installation, repair and maintenance of the company mechanical, electrical and ancillary equipment to ensure that required standards, specifications and reliability targets are met.
  •  Monitor the implementation of all preventive checks, ensure the maintenance of relevant records or documentation and prepare required reports.
  • Participate in the planning and scheduling of weekly maintenance schedules.
  • Coordinate and monitor the implementation and progress of all plant and equipment maintenance to ensure compliance with establish quality standards and production targets.
  • Ensure the establishment and application of approved housekeeping and safety practices, standards and procedures for all plant and equipment maintenance.
  • Monitor the condition of operating plant and equipment to determine defects and variations from established specification and initiate corrective action as necessary.
  • Ensure the availability of tools, equipment and materials required by subordinates so as to create and maintain work targets.
  • Provide technical advice, guidance and on the job training for subordinates so as to create and maintain effective levels of productivity.
  • Liaise with personnel from other operations departments and sections so as to facilitate achievement of work targets.
  • Liaise with local and foreign equipment suppliers to investigate, follow up and analyze the root causes of plant and equipment malfunctions.
  • Monitor the work of contractors to ensure that required standards and specifications are met.
  • Ensure that subordinates comply with established disciplinary, attendance and punctuality procedures and guidelines.
  • Coordinate the start up, security and shut down requirements for plant operations in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Ensure the availability of a continuous water supply for plant operations.
  • Prepare weekly reports on engineering issues and problems and recommend appropriate action.
