Responsible for providing helpdesk support for application issues, servicing of workstations and repairs and supporting the smooth operation and maintenance of the IT broadcast systems, including hardware and software, within TTTL.
Job Function:
- Maintains and updates broadcast software applications, ensuring that they are fully operational and up to date.
- Provides support for users who are experiencing technical issues with broadcast software applications and hardware, including troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Acts as a first responder to technical malfunctions and failures when they occur and to make timely decisions which allow for workarounds and/or quick solutions to be made.
- Maintains an inventory of broadcast software licenses and ensures that they are current and up to date.
- Collaborates with other IT/Engineering staff to ensure that broadcast software applications and hardware are integrated with other systems, such as web streaming and social media platforms.
- Monitors broadcast hardware and software performance to identify potential issues and takes proactive steps to resolve them before they become critical.
- Installs, configures, and maintains broadcast equipment and workstations, ensuring that they are running efficiently and securely.
- Maintains an inventory of broadcast hardware and equipment and ensures that it is kept up to date.
- Provides training and support to end-users on the use of broadcast equipment and software, including best practices and troubleshooting techniques.
- Develops and maintains standard operating procedures for the use of broadcast equipment and software and ensures that they are followed by all staff.
- Participates in the planning and execution of remote broadcasts and outside broadcasts, ensuring that all broadcast equipment and software is set up and operational.
- Performs repairs and preventative maintenance on all computer-related equipment. (Workstations, monitors, printers and peripherals).
- Performs routine activities related to the operation of Studios and control rooms IT infrastructure.
- Troubleshoots and provides operational repairs related to Broadcast and Business IT infrastructure.
- Troubleshoots and resolves technical issues with broadcast systems, including hardware, software, and networking.
- Prepares and maintains documentation, including standard operating procedures, technical manuals, and system diagrams.
- Provides support for remote broadcasts, including live streaming and remote production workflows.
- Provide support for Microwave or Data Links establishment to TTTL for Outside Broadcasts.
- Supports equipment end users (broadcast and business networks) with operational issues of different levels in various arms of the company.
- Provides daily and timely reports related to the Broadcast and Business systems assigned by Chief engineer and IT Broadcast Specialists.
- Executes any other related duties as assigned.
Education:
- Associate degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or telecommunications.
- CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or other relevant IT certifications are desirable.
- Industry-specific certifications, such as SBE CBNE or CBTE, are also desirable.
Experience:
- A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the IT broadcast industry, with experience in broadcast engineering, technical operations, or IT infrastructure support.
- Experience in sales/marketing would be an asset.
- Experience in supporting broadcast systems, including hardware and software, in a live broadcast environment.
- Experience with networking technologies, including routing, switching, firewalls, and security protocols.
- Experience with audio and video signal processing equipment, including routers, switchers, and audio mixers.
- Experience with broadcast automation systems, scheduling software, and content management systems.
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices, including SMPTE, AES, EBU, and ITU.
