JOB SUMMARY:

This is a professional position, that will: observe, diagnose, and treat individuals who exhibit persistent social and behavioral difficulties; perform evaluations, design and implement therapy programs to help treat patients with mental, social or learning disorders; implement effective patient treatment plans to restore, compensate or adapt for loss of patient function, by planning and administrating medically prescribed therapy treatments in accordance with professional standards governing the facility and their discipline; collaborate with multidisciplinary team members; utilise ABA techniques such as positive reinforcement, shaping, prompt fading and task analysis; collect data during sessions to evaluate behaviours and monitor progress;  supervising assigned team members

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Identify children with developmental delay and behavioural disorders.
  2. Conducting initial consultations with the client, where you may perform diagnostic assessments;
  3. Meet with families, educators and other collateral individuals to obtain better insight into clients’ presenting concerns as needed.
  4. Conduct true-to-life observation of clients within individual and group settings;
  5. Create simulated conditions, where you will observe the behaviour of each client;
  6. Formulate an appropriate treatment plan that is sensitive to clients’ cognitive, social, emotional and sensory needs;
  7. Administer treatment and tailor interventions as needed;
  8. Recommend additional treatment by other professionals as required;
  9. Monitor and evaluate client’s progress;
  10. Write and maintain confidential client case notes and reports as well as information for clients, carers and other professionals;
  11. Managing a caseload taking account of priority cases, waiting lists, successful outcomes, referrals and discharge of services users;
  12. Evaluate client’s home or school, workplace and based on the patient’s health needs identify potential improvements;
  13. Educate a client’s family and employer about how to accommodate and care for the patient;
  14. Remain abreast of changes in research on evidence-based practices
  15. Advocating for the inclusion of individuals with disorders and disabilities within society;
  16. Work with others to provide the effective service delivery;
  17. Conduct personal development reviews with colleagues;
  18. Set organizational and personal objectives;
  19. Plan and deliver training sessions;
  20. Contribution to the implementation and evaluation of projects and developments;
  21. Undertaking clinical audit through the collation or statistical, financial and other related data;
  22. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed;
  23. Recommend various adaptive equipment
  24. Adhere to all public service codes, rules and regulations;
  25. And any other related tasks which may be assigned by the job holder's Head of Department.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • A Master’s Degree in applied behaviour analysis 
  • Accreditation as a behaviour analyst Specialized training in the area of Special Needs.
  • Registration as a Behavioural Analyst from country of training or origin and posses, maintain a current license 
  • Eight (8) years’ experience in the field, of which three (3) years are at a senior management level.
  • Experience working with NGOs would be an asset.

 

SALARY: Grade 9.1 $63,792.64 per annum
