 An opportunity has arisen for a suitable and committed individual to join our team in the capacity of:

 Maintenance Technician – Grade 1

 Under the guidance of the Building Supervisor, the incumbent will be a member of the Operations Team, with responsibility for ensuring the effective and efficient performance of technical tasks on the assigned properties and providing technical support to the Building Supervisor and junior staff.  He/she will ensure that all the electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and air-conditioning systems are functioning at their optimal levels, preventing downtimes associated with avoidable defect(s) and promoting customer satisfaction and retention.

 POSITION SUMMARY:

• Ensure the efficient operation, testing and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and electronic building systems
• Periodic review of Standard Operation Procedures (SOP’s) and recommendations where necessary
• Experience in troubleshooting, testing and commissioning of BMS, HVAC controls, PLC or electronic systems
• Develop technical and creative solutions geared towards improved building system performance
• Perform preliminary troubleshooting of major building systems problems
• Assist with the formulation of the preventative maintenance schedule
• Collaborate and schedule preventative maintenance & remedial repair activities and events as required
• Continuously assess building system’s outputs & daily reviews of logs to ensure operations standards and specifications are being maintained
• Prepare and supply monthly analytic reports to the building supervisor
• Provide initial response to occupant’s complaints/reports within the designated timelines
• Provide technical hands-on training, guidance and support to junior staff members
• Provide oversight on the activities of contractors and third party agents
• Keep supervisor abreast of important developments relating to assigned properties
• Liaise with ground team for the proper upkeep of equipment rooms and enclosure
• Make diary entries of all critical maintenance events
• Continuously research emerging systems, tooling & processes as well as procedural trends and technologies in facilities management
• Deputize in the absence of the Building Supervisor.

Education/Work Experience/Skills & Abilities: 

• Graduate from a tertiary institution with a first degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• A minimum of two (2) years’ hands-on experience.
• Certification in Supervisory Management.
• Leadership skills.
• Proficient in Office Productivity software.
• Excellent Troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
• Highly reliable, Team player and Service Oriented.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
