The Facilities & Maintenance Officer assists in maintaining and improving physical facilities and structures across the organization. to , specifically: aesthetics, functional office space, asset management and equipment removal and upkeep.

Job Purpose and Responsibility 

Facilities and Maintenance Officer will be responsible for but not limited to the following: -

 

  • Assist with facilities, premises, and office management activities such as
    • property acquisition and/or disposal
    • planning and overseeing building work/renovation
    • lease management
    • allocating and space within buildings
    • building maintenance activities
    • cleaning and parking exercises
    • infrastructure security and general administrative services
    • ensuring that facilities meet government regulations and environmental, health and security standards.
    • advising on energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness
  • Conduct day-to-day purchasing, supplier management, contracting, procurement and price negotiation.
  • Monitor performance of all contractors in regard to effectively carrying out work while adhering to policies/procedures, quality, and timeframe
  • Schedule outsourced monthly and quarterly maintenance exercise, e.g., fire, pest control, ac services, furnishings, landscaping.
  • Contribute to the upkeep of Health & Safety records to expected standards.
  • Assist in major project implementation relating to premises and build-out.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum post-secondary certification in relevant field such as electrical, plumbing, construction, carpentry, or other technical skills would be an asset.
  • At least 2 years’ working experience in related field.
  • Warehouse management and data entry or other records management experience
  • Experience of managing safety and welfare in the workplace
  • Project management experience
  • Working knowledge of supplier management, contracting and tendering
  • IT literacy, ideally including policy and administrative functions.
  • Microsoft Office
  • Event management and logistics
