Quality Officer

The Quality Officer is responsible for ensuring that the facilities of the Distribution Centres are maintained in such conditions that are in alignment with pertinent quality standards.  In addition, conducts quality assurance audits to ensure company standards are maintained.

 

Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Assists with the development and implementation of the practices for the pertinent quality standard as applicable within the facility.
  • In collaboration with the quality manager at the factories, conducts physical releases for finished products that are released en route to or while at DC.
  • Manages, reports and physically identify in a timely manner, non-conforming products at the DC.
  • Develops and Implements Good Warehouse Practices within the facilities.
  • Conducts training sessions to ensure all the personnel within the facility are aware of Good Warehouse Practices
  • Perform scheduled audits to ensure compliance to the Good Warehouse Practices.
  • Facilitate second- and third-party audits that are being conducted within the facility.
  • Ensure the relevant documentation that supports the implementation of Good Warehouse Practices are written, available and updated accordingly.
  • Lead efforts in determining root cause for quality failures (inclusive of non-conformances and gaps detected during audits) within the facility, documenting the decisions
  • taken and following up on them and ensure corrective actions are closed out.
  • Track, monitor and prepare monthly reports as it relates to the KPI’s for Good Warehouse Practices within the facility.
  • Participate in Recall (inclusive of mock recall) activities for products distributed and assist with downstream traceability exercises for the other subsidiaries.
  • Ensure the effective implementation of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Activities within the Facility and manages the contractor providing the service
  • Assists with the selection and daily direction of the contracted janitorial provider; to ensure cleaning is being done as per established cleaning matrix and same is documented accordingly
  • Assists with the evaluation of the contractors (Pest management and Janitorial) at the Distribution centre.
  • Other duties that may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications & Requirements 

  • Diploma in a science related discipline inclusive of Public Health
  • Certified training in FSSC 22000 or ISO 9001
  • At least 2 years experience in a supervisory position
  • Training in Good Warehouse Practices
  • Internal Auditor for ISO
