Your primary responsibility will be to develop, implement, and maintain effective food safety and quality programs and procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Position Summary:
As a Food Safety & systems Officer in our food manufacturing plant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the
highest standards of food safety and quality throughout our production processes. Your primary responsibility
will be to develop, implement, and maintain effective food safety and quality programs and procedures in
accordance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. You will collaborate with cross-functional
teams, train employees, conduct food safety audits, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to uphold our
commitment to delivering safe and high-quality food products to our customers.
Duties & Responsibilities:
o Develop and Implement Food Safety Programs:
o Design and implement comprehensive food safety programs based on industry standards and regulatory
requirements (e.g., HACCP, GMP, SQF, FDA, etc.).
o Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and work instructions to ensure compliance with relevant
food safety regulations and standards.
o Liaise and follow up with departmental teams to obtain critical and supporting documents and
information required for supporting the food safety programs.
o Monitor and evaluate existing processes and systems to identify potential risks and areas for
improvement.
o Regulatory Compliance:
o Stay up-to-date with food safety regulations and industry trends to ensure compliance and anticipate
any changes that may impact operations.
o Interact with regulatory agencies and participate in inspections and audits to maintain compliance and
address any findings or deficiencies.
o Training and Education:
o Conduct training for employees on food safety practices, hygiene, sanitation, and related topics to
promote a culture of food safety awareness.
o Provide ongoing guidance and support to the team, ensuring their understanding and adherence to food
safety protocols and procedures.
o Food Safety Systems Monitoring:
o HACCP Plans and CCPs monitoring and reviews as per stipulated frequencies
o Conduct risk assessments, monitor production processes, storage facilities, and equipment to identify
and address potential hazards or deviations from food safety requirements.
o Liaise with the operational team to ensure identified food safety hazards, corrective actions and
preventive measures are actioned and implemented within stipulated timelines
o Develop and oversee the Environmental Pathogen Monitoring program
o Investigate and document food safety incidents, utilizing root cause analysis tools and techniques and
taking corrective and preventive actions as needed.
o Continuous Improvement:
o Analyze food safety data and metrics, identifying trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities to
enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications & Experience:
o Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.

o Relevant certifications, eg. HACCP, PCQI, Internal Auditing
o Proven experience (3+ years) in a similar food safety role within the food manufacturing industry.
o Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, industry standards, and quality management systems.
o Familiarity and working knowledge of HACCP principles, GMPs, allergen control, sanitation practices,
and relevant food safety standards (e.g., FDA, FSMA).
o Excellent understanding of microbiology, foodborne pathogens, and food safety risks associated with
manufacturing processes.
o Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and influence employees at all
levels of the organization.
o Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a
fast-paced environment.
Knowledge & Skills:
o Basic principles and practices of qualitative and quantitative chemistry
o Laboratory techniques, GLPs and operation of laboratory equipment and tools
o Sound mathematical abilities
o Microsoft Suite Proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
