The incumbent is responsible for the administration of the organization's technology infrastructure, which includes configuration, security, resource monitoring, reporting and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities and Duties:
Specific Knowledge
Sound knowledge of Windows operating systems (2012, 2008 R2, 2008, 2003)
Sound knowledge of Linux operating system
Sound knowledge of IT security
Sound knowledge of IT networking
Sound knowledge of database design
Sound knowledge of SQL, Oracle or DB2 database
Required Skills and Specialised Techniques:
Sound project management skills
Ability to diagnose software, hardware and network problems.
Ability to design and implement appropriate IT solutions
Team-working and team management skills
Sound interpersonal and communications skills
Special Conditions Associated with the job:
Required to work beyond normal working hours to perform end of day, end of month and end of year procedures, and to perform daily backup of system files.
Required to be on 24-hour call.
Qualifications and Experience:
First Degree in Computer Studies or equivalent qualification/training.
Three (3) years related work experience at a supervisory level.
