Quality Technician

We are seeking an innovative Quality Technician to join our team. The selected candidate will conduct inspections, tests, and evaluations to ensure all the Company’s products or processes adhere to international quality control standards.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Degree in Food Technology, Chemistry or an associated discipline

Specific Knowledge (however acquired) required to start:

• Sound knowledge of international quality standards.
• Working knowledge of the use and operation of laboratory equipment (e.g. moisture meter)
• Working knowledge of the relevant computer applications.

 Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Ensures equipment and electronic tools (thermometer, moisture meter, scales etc.) are working and properly maintained.
2. Assists in product development trials, as required.
3. Checks weight of dough and baked pieces against standard requirement and make recommendations where necessary.
4. Conducts comparative analysis against standard requirement e.g. colour of product.
5. Checks on an hourly basis seals of packs.
6. Audits production process to ensure that only products that are within the desired quality specifications are released.
7. Completes report on all non conformances.
8. Isolates out-of-specification products where applicable and treat them according to Standard Operating Procedures
