Accounts Receivables Supervisor

Job Scope/Summary: 

The Accounts Receivables Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the operations and activities related to the organization's accounts receivable. You will be obligated to keep information confidential to protect the organization's value, and accomplish accounting and organizational mission by completing relevant results. Your duties will vary and typically includes processing invoices and following-up on payments, maintaining cash receipts, resolving payment issues on time and providing guidance to receivables team. In addition, you will be responsible for updating and maintaining accurate financial records and providing weekly receivables status reports.  

Essential Job Functions:

  • Generate and email customer invoices.
  • Posts payments received to customer accounts and apply payments to clear customer invoice from aging.
  • Ensure all unapplied or unidentified amounts are resolved timely;
  • Research and investigate customer account issues identified by receivables team.
  • Reconciles accounts receivables and deferred revenue to the general ledger
  • Prepare weekly/monthly aging reports and follow up with customers having past due invoices.
  • Email monthly statements to customers monthly;
  • Review, analyze accounts and implement new strategies to improve collections, reduce aged receivables and mitigate risks;
  • Provide timely feedback on customer’s queries by liaising with relevant individuals/departments.
  • Reconcile and post all credit card transactions.
  • Gain and display expert knowledge on Receivable guidelines so that adequate guidance can be provided to employees.
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing by creating, updating/ maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
  • Train new employees to perform related job tasks and responsibilities.
  • Identify training needs or knowledge gaps for new and/or existing employees and provide feedback and coaching in order to prepare, grow and retain employees.
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies Required:
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Must be highly motivated individual with the ability to develop, mentor, coach and provide direction to a team of employees in order to achieve specific performance expectations.
  • Strong leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Excellent time and stress management skills, having the ability to multi-task, prioritization, and meet established deadlines.
  • Analytical and strong problem solving and decision making skills. Works well under pressure and follows through on issues until they are completed.
  • General understanding of accounting practices and principles.
  • Working knowledge of computerized accounting applications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel needed to maintain and develop operational reports.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Undergraduate Degree with major in Finance, Accounting or related field from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar position, preferably in a Hospitality environment.
