The Sales and Marketing Coordinator personnel will be responsible for the conceptualization, creation, development and execution of marketing strategies which would allow Modern Electrical Supplies Limited (MESL) to achieve its Sales and Marketing objectives.

Role and Responsibilities:

 

  • Conceptualize, develop and implement marketing strategies consistent with the desired direction and strategic objectives of Modern Electrical Supplies Limited.
  • Provide guidance, assistance and support to the branches in the development and execution of marketing plans towards achieving targets.
  • Completes rollout guides related to all marketing promotions and ensures communication to store managers and staff.
  • Grow existing business through strategic decision making within product management and customer service.
  • Develop and manage systems and processes that allow for the continuous monitoring and information gathering of competitors and market activities
  • Plan & Execute monthly and quarterly business reviews, discussing new business opportunities, and operational challenges
  • Manage the Commercial and Residential Sales Team along with the Macoya Showroom to ensure  the continuous development and enhancement of products that meet customers’ needs

 

  • Guide, direct and provide oversight for staff on work activities, projects and programmes in the Sales Team – Commercial and Residential and the Macoya Showroom
  • Address customer concerns ensuring complete customer satisfaction
  • Manage the Sales Executive Accounts to reduce variances and enhance their efficient and professional operations
  • Manage risk control/reduction initiatives
  • Design policies and procedures for the marketing department, assess the gaps of the department and make recommendations for upgrading the existing policies and processes to the Executive Management Team
  • Create an annual strategic marketing plan and marketing budget with projections and forward to the Executive Management Team
  • Provide marketing updates to the Executive Management Team through monthly reports on changes that might affect the company’s products or services
  • Responsible for product development by recommending and finding solutions and improvements on products and services when required to meet the needs and expectations of the public in order to increase our branding presence. This will be done through quarterly assessments
  • Conduct market research in the form of surveys, focus groups, and marketing meetings for the development of marketing strategies, propose and implement solutions and initiatives which will achieve identified objectives and goals
  • Monitor industry trends and the competitive environment in order to manage the strategic objective for inclusion in future product development
  • Develop and execute marketing and communication strategies and training programs based on MESL’s vision and mission using sound marketing theories
  • Ensure the target parameters set out for the marketing department are being achieved by measuring the targets for success/shortfalls (weaknesses)
  • Responsible for understanding the products and services of MESL along with technology trends
  • Perform all other duties, assignments and special projects as assigned by the Directors and Executive Management Team relative to the function

 

PLANNING ADMINISTRATION

 

Ÿ  Provide leadership and vision to the organization by assisting the Directors and Executive Management Team with the development of long term and annual plans with the evaluation and reporting of progress on marketing plans.

Ÿ  Ensure implemented strategic plans achieve set targets; KPI’s and achieve company’s revenue goals.

Ÿ  Research and write discussion reports, analysis documents and proposals as needed to assist the organization in determining and meeting its long and short term goals.

Ÿ  Providing Monthly Reports summarizing sales programmes on short and long term plans for all Stores.

Ÿ  Provide vision and oversight of efforts to increase market share and growth through developing and executing marketing sales and strategies.

 

FINANCIAL MANGEMENT

 

Ÿ  Oversee MESL’s vision regarding specific overall sales targets.

Ÿ  Achieve financial targets and ensure long term profitability by monitoring KPI’s.

Ÿ  Provide vision and leadership in long term fiscal planning to ensure the continuity and solvency of MESL

Ÿ  Oversee the preparation of the annual budget, regular variance statements and the annual audit as and when required.

 

CORE COMPETENCIES

 

Ÿ  Strong knowledge and understanding of Sales reporting, as well as the ability to interpret information and extrapolate trends

Ÿ  Ability to develop annual strategic business plans

Ÿ  Knowledge in the field of Management Information Systems (GP)

Ÿ  Strong project management skills

Ÿ  Excellent oral and written communication skills

Ÿ  Leadership and innovation to problem solving skills are essential

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

Ÿ  Experience in Sales and Marketing

Ÿ  Five to ten (5-10) years experience in Technical or Electrical related field.

Ÿ  Formal exposure/experience in strategic planning would be an asset.

Ÿ  Experience in managing people
