Responsible for the preparation & maintenance of all Accounting and statistical records of the Companies and providing support for the preparation of monthly and year-end financial statements on a timely basis.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepares monthly financial reports, with supporting analyses where appropriate.
  • Maintains the company’s Fixed Assets register, supported by appropriate documentation.
  • Reconciles all statutory payables (PAYE, NIS, Health Surcharge, Green Fund Levy, Business Levy, Corporation Tax, 6% tax, VAT) every month.
  • Reconciles Investment Ledger with General Ledger monthly.
  • Performs selected Balance Sheet reconciliations, Intercompany reconciliation schedule and ensures that other Balance Sheet reconciliations as well as selected income/expense analyses are prepared and signed off each month.
  • Conducts sales and transaction review as well as cheque payment review.
  • Maintains, prepares, and track accrued liabilities, accrued income schedules, and suspense schedule.
  • Accrued liabilities and prepayments, in addition to verification and posting of income journals.
  • Conducts and prepares investment schedules and budget expenses analysis.
  • Periodically audits Petty Cash.
  • Assists in the preparation of interim and year-end audit schedules and deals with auditors’ requests for information in a timely manner.
  • Ensures an appropriate and adequate system of internal controls is in place and periodically makes recommendations for improvement.
  • Adheres to Anti-Money Laundering guidelines and other financial, legal, and statutory requirements.
  •  Supports the maintenance of a team environment by performing other related duties.

    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
  • Level II of a Professional Accounting Qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CMA.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in a similar capacity.
  • Experience in the Financial Services industry would be an asset.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS/ ATTRIBUTES:

  • Working knowledge of local financial laws and regulations, and the Financial Services Act.
  • Excellent knowledge of financial and accounting standards and practices.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
