To help take the West Indies Oil Company to an exciting phase, WIOC has a career opportunity for the right professional: Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls Engineer.

Principal Accountabilities: 
  • Applies Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls (EI&C) systems, engineering principles and best practices to the process to ensure all assets are utilised and/or modified safely and in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Provides engineering input and support on EI&C systems by working with relevant personnel on trouble-shooting problems.to ensure optimum plant and equipment reliability by participation in, or facilitating Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) studies.
  • Provides EI&C systems and engineering input for electrical maintenance activities, the analysis of equipment and system failures and contributes to solutions to root causes.
  • Executes EI&C systems scope on projects to ensure that work is carried out in accordance with the technical and economic requirements and with the Company’s safety regulations and budgets.
  • Required to perform project management functions for EI&C systems, modifications and projects by formulating the technical scope of work, cost estimate and schedule and by monitoring design and implementation to ensure that work is carried out in accordance with the technical requirements and conforms to recognized electrical engineering practices and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in /Electrical, Instrument & Control Engineering, or an equivalent qualification from a recognised, accredited institution.
  • Professional qualification to at least one of the following: a Professional Engineer (P.E.) US standard or Chartered Engineer (C.E.) UK standard
  • A minimum of five (5) years relevant experience as an electrical, instrumentation or controls engineer within an petrochemical environment.
  • Knowledge of the design, operation, and maintenance of Electrical (ELV, LV, MV, HV and grounding), Instrumentation and Controls Equipment.
  • General knowledge of Distributed Control System (DCS), Safety Instrumentation System (SIS) and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems and low voltage switchgear and motor control centers.
  • CSME Skills Certificate is a requirement.
